Rhino Viewer 3.5
Rhino Viewer was originally designed to work hand-in-hand with reports created by Rhino Baseball, but it also can just as easily be used to work with PSR reports produced by other applications. The current release of the Rhino Viewer (version 3.5) can view and manipulate PSR report files created by programs that were written in PowerBuilder 5 (or earlier versions) of that programming language. The upcoming 4.0 version of Rhino Viewer, which is tentatively scheduled for a Spring 2006 release, will be able to handle PSR reports created by applications written in PowerBuilder 8 or earlier.
Exactly how is Rhino Viewer used? A typical example of Rhino Viewer usage is as follows. Let's suppose that a fantasy baseball league commissioner uses Rhino Baseball to save his rosters, team stats, point scores, transaction lists, and other league reports in PSR report file format. He then emails those PSR reports to his league members who use the Rhino Viewer to view, filter, sort, and print those stat reports in a variety of ways. By emailing the stat reports, the commissioner avoids the high cost of printing & mailing reports to his league members. And since the stat report data can be quickly searched, sorted, and filtered in spreadsheet-like fashion using the Rhino Viewer, these PSR reports provide information which is much more useful than static HTML web pages or plain text files which cannot be manipulated in the same manner.
Here's a sample of the Fantasy Team Stats report generated by Rhino Baseball Deluxe as it would look in the Rhino Viewer:
