Fantasy Sports Background
Steve is also a fantasy sports expert, having founded, managed, and played in
various fantasy baseball, football, and hockey leagues since the late 1980's. He
has spent countless years refining formulas & techniques for projecting
baseball player statistics. Many of his original and innovative ideas in the field of fantasy
baseball can be found in the Rhino Fantasy Baseball Handbook,
which explains the proportional rotisserie scoring system, fielding ratio statistic,
regular season salary cap, salary arbitration process, and rotisserie playoff system among
other things.
This is Steve's 21st consecutive season managing a team and
running HARL (Harrisburg Area Rotisserie League), a highly competitive 6x6, NL-only,
rotisserie ultra league which he founded in 1987. In 2003, Steve became a 6-time HARL champion, setting a
league record by winning championships in 3 consecutive seasons. He also
has several fantasy football titles to his credit, and won the prestigious PROFL
Experts league championship in hockey in 2002, besting hockey experts from
across the fantasy sports industry.
