What's In the Upgrades?
Software upgrade rb653.exe includes:
- League Setup = you can now set default values to use for a fantasy
player's Contract Code and Years Left on Contract fields. The default value
is used in the Roster Builder screen.
- Roster Builder = can now set each player's Freeze Flag when dropping a
player onto the field.
- Roster Builder = for pool style leagues (where 1 player can be owned by
multiple teams), you can now add a player to a fantasy team even if he's
already owned by someone else without receiving an error message.
- Free Agent List = for pool style leagues, free agent records are created
for every player in the league's player source pool, regardless of whether
the player is owned by another team or not.
- Player Forecasts = When calculating player forecasts after the season
has started (post Opening Day), the forecast engine won't ask you if you
want to include regular season stats as part of the forecasting process if
you haven't imported any regular season stats for the current season yet.
- Player Forecasts = tweaked the formulas that adjust forecasts for
pitchers who are undergoing a major role change (from SP to Closer, or
Closer to SP).
- Draft Assistant = when selecting the Price to use for a player you're
adding to your draft plan, you can now choose Midpoint in addition to
Draft Value and Optimal Bid. The Midpoint is the midpoint price between the
Draft Value and Optimal Bid prices.
- Draft Rosters = program now saves the user's last roster style choice
and automatically displays that roster style as the default report on
subsequent opens of the Draft Rosters window.
- Draft Rosters = the viewable size of the Rosters and Spending Analysis
reports has been enlarged so you can see more info on the screen at one
time.
- Draft Rosters = you can now choose which report to view (Spending
Analysis or one of the many styles of Roster reports) by selecting a report
from a dropdown list.
- Draft Rosters = added a Zoom control that lets you zoom In/Out on the
report being displayed.
- Draft Rosters = added capability to click a player's name in the Rosters
report and drag & drop him on top of another player's name to make those 2
players swap positions in the roster.
- Draft Central = added a sensitivity check that prevents draft inflation
rates (for auction style leagues) from falling outside the +/- 100% range.
- Draft Central = added button to the Checklist popup window that lets you
view a new report that shows all players who are eligible to play multiple
positions. You can also filter that report by position.
- Draft Central = added an option to the Adjustments popup window that
lets you advance the Pick number ahead by 1 tick. This is useful for simple
draft leagues in cases where a team skips/forfeits its pick during a round
and you want to advance the controls that show which team picks now & next.
- Draft Advisor = players who are not available to draft are now hidden in
the Recommended Replacements popup window.
- Draft Advisor = the Show All popup window now includes players that your
team has already drafted in addition to available players. As a result, you
can now easily replace a player in your draft plan with a player that your
team has just drafted moments ago.
- Draft Researcher = when viewing player lists based on statistical
criteria using computed stats (such as ERA, WHIP, Batting Average, etc.),
you can now filter the player list based on At Bats and Innings Pitched as a
form of secondary criteria. This lets you weed out players who aren't
projected to play much.
Software upgrade rb653_u1.exe includes:
- Fantasy Player Stats = set the default value
for the Salary search field to $9,999.
- Data Loader = added capability for Data Loader to load user-created H2H
Schedule Templates into the database. By having additional templates stored
in the database, the auto-scheduler can automatically build schedules for a
greater variety of head-to-head league types.
- H2H Scheduler = fixed problem with assigning teams to pre-defined
divisions in auto-scheduler. Due to a database field name change, teams
weren't being properly grouped by division name like they had been in
earlier versions. This problem didn't occur if divisions were not defined
prior to auto-scheduling.
- H2H Standings Report = fixed problem with sorting of the basic H2H
Standings report.

Rhino Baseball 6.5 (2005 edition) - Upgrade Files

 | players_401.exe
(Updated on 4/01) = Free MLB Player Info data file for use with
the Data Loader function in Rhino Baseball. This is the last
free player file of the preseason. |
 | rb65u329.exe = Upgrade includes:
Enhancements to the live draft tracking functions (to Draft
Setup, Draft Central, and Draft Rosters), refinements to pitchers' dollar
valuation, revised validation checking of
league names in League Setup, and elimination of possible divide-by-zero
error in Impact Ratings. Added a new Checklist button on Draft
Central which shows a complete checklist (grouped by position) of all
players who were already taken plus those still available (this new report
is like a live in-draft cheatsheet). Added new viewing options for Draft
Rosters (can now see a condensed version of the rosters with some
columns hidden, in addition to the old full-column report). In the Draft
Setup function, changed the way dollar values are assigned for players
that have no forecast stats (instead of setting value = 0, value now = 1 bid
unit less than worst player in league). For leagues that do not use
fantasy points, a team total for fantasy point rating is also included
(based on RBR and RPR rating) when draft data is created (rather than only
tracking points for drafted guys, we now include frozen guys as well in the
team totals). In Dollar Values, adjustments have been made in the
valuation of starting pitchers versus relievers (allocation of league funds
for SP's versus RP's is now different based on whether you run a 4x4, 5x5,
6x6, or other type of league). In League Setup, fantasy league names are now
restricted to a combination of letters and numbers only (no special
characters are allowed, which could cause problems). Added fixes to
Impact Ratings window to prevent possible divide-by-zero errors when
certain data conditions exist. This upgrade is recommended for ALL users.
After downloading the rb65u328.exe file, double-click it to
unzip and copy the upgraded files to your Rhino Baseball program folder.
Once that's done, your software will be upgraded. Please note: the version
number of your software will not change as a result of this upgrade. |
 | rb65u317.exe = Upgrade includes:
Enhancements to the Stats Forecasting Engine that's used to
calculate projections in Rhino Baseball. Refinements were made to formulas
that account for players who undergo a large role change (e.g. from Closer
to Starting Rotation), the effect of new teammates, age and breakthrough
season effects, league tolerance checks, and more. This is a highly
recommended upgrade for anyone using the software for draft preparation and
planning. After downloading the rb65u317.exe file, double-click it to
unzip and copy the upgraded files to your Rhino Baseball program folder.
Once that's done, your software will be upgraded. Please note: the version
number of your software will not change as a result of this upgrade. |

 | rb6u422.exe = Upgrade includes: (1)
Fixed the way the Clear button works in the Player Stats window so it
remains in the current stats display mode (was previously being reset to
Major League mode when Clear was clicked). This fix also resolves a problem
that prevented the Auto-Reporter from properly generating the fantasy batter
stats and fantasy pitcher stats reports. (2) Logic added to Auto-Reporter to
prevent a runtime error from occurring if user tried to auto-generate
certain reports (dollar values, impact ratings, stock values) that there was
no existing data for because the user had never calculated any of that data
yet. (3) Expanded the on-screen Point Scores report in the Team Stats &
Scores window to show six teams at a time instead of five. (4) Added
capability for user to enter blanks into the Contract Code field for a
fantasy player if they want to. |

leagues. (5) Contract and Salary columns were added to the Fantasy Player
Stats reports, and fixed column ordering problem with PSR reports. (6)
Injury% and Years in Majors columns were added to the Player Forecast Stats
reports, and fixed column ordering problem with PSR reports. (7) Fixed
duplicate stats column issue with certain user-defined statistics (RBR, LWP,
RPR) that were embedded in the stat formula of another user-defined
statistic so that they only appear once on reports or are hidden if user
sets them to Do Not Track. (8) Added the Load Draft Table window which is
part of the upcoming set of live draft tracking
features. |
