 On April 14, we added a bonus feature to our weekly stats file download service for Baseball. We're now including One-Week stats in addition to our regular Year-to-Date player statistics. The new One-Week files include major league player stats from the past week (Monday thru Sunday) for major league hitters and pitchers. Stats Service customers can download these one-week stats files for no extra charge from our Baseball Stats Center page. Not currently a stats service customer? You can signup today for the 2008 baseball stats service using our online order form. In older baseball news... Rhino Baseball 6.65 was released in early March 2008 and is available for purchase. The new edition of the baseball software contains updated MLB player data for 2008, major and minor league stats from 2007, and a fresh set of player forecast stats for 2008. All of this new data is current as of March 11, 2008, and there are also free MLB Player Info file updates thru 3/31 for those folks who purchase the software right now. Steve Severino (our rotisserie baseball guru and Rhino Baseball's software designer) is hoping to complete a few enhancements to the baseball software over the course of the 2008 season. Steve is also currently the lead developer of our upcoming miniature wargame project entitled Sword of Severnia, so that will keep him very busy for the remainder of 2008. That said, Steve is hoping to squeeze in baseball enhancements as time permits. These tweaks will be made available as free upgrades to users of Rhino Baseball 6.62 or later. In-house playtesting of our Sword of Severnia tabletop wargame set in the fantasy world of Severnia began in late April. We expect the playtesting process, along with further refinements to the game rules, to take several months. Development of Troop Builder, Character Builder, Army Builder, and Troop Card Printer software components of the wargame has also begun. Once these functions and the final beta-version rules are finished, Steve Severino will begin developing Battle HQ (the computer moderated portion of the wargame). If everything goes well with final development and playtesting, we hope to have the wargame ready in Fall/Winter 2008. Our current plan is to offer an all-electronic basic version of the game (troop/army building software and digital rulebook) and also a paperback edition of the rules. The deluxe version of the game will include everything in the basic version plus the computer-moderated battle modules and some scenario building tools.
Future plans for the wargame include a
Campaign & Sieges supplement, database updates for additional creature races and
stats for
sample armies and famous characters, and drag & drop battlefield map creation tools. |

your fantasy league software, spreadsheet, or personal database? Then the Rhino Stats Service
might be for you. Our web-based stats download service
provides year-to-date player statistics
for Major League Baseball and
NHL Hockey.
Our stats files, provided in tab-delimited Text format, can be imported directly into our fantasy sports databases (such as those used by Rhino Baseball and Rhino Hockey) or can be easily imported into spreadsheet programs such as Microsoft Excel.
Updated player stats are published to the Rhino Software web site on a Weekly basis (every Monday by 1:00 PM Eastern Time).
Players in the Rhino Stats files are assigned a unique Player ID# which remains the same from year to year. Multiple player stats files are combined into a single ZIP file for fast downloading.
Our weekly baseball stats package contains eight stat files (3 batting stats files, 3 pitching stats files, and 2 games-by-position files), while the weekly hockey stats package contains two stat files (1 skater stats file and 1 goalie stats file).
If you only want to download End-of-Season Player Stats for Baseball or Hockey, then we've got an affordable solution just for you.
We offer 1-time downloads of MLB Baseball and NHL Hockey end-of-season player stats. These stat files are provided in the same format (tab-delimited Text) and use the same Player ID numbers as the files provided to our full-season Rhino Stats Service customers.
We also offer 3-year and 5-year historical stats packages for those of you who are looking for multiple years of statistics to help you prepare for your draft, perform research, or create your own home-brewed player projections.

Sometimes we will arrange to talk with you over the phone if we feel that will simplify things, but your initial contact with tech support should always be made via email. Please keep in mind that we keep normal business hours (Monday-thru-Friday, 9 AM-to-5 PM EST), so if you contact us outside of normal working hours you're not likely to get a response from us until the next business day in most cases.
