Rhino Hockey 1.0

Rhino Hockey is software designed for fantasy hockey enthusiasts, who are often referred to as poolies. It enables poolies to view NHL player stats and player ratings, and to track fantasy rosters, fantasy player stats, and fantasy team stats & point scores for all the fantasy hockey teams in their league. The software comes with a 1-season subscription to the Rhino Stats Service, which enables users to download updated NHL player stats files from our web site every Monday and quickly import those stats into their Rhino Hockey database.

Both year-to-date and period stats (stats accumulated over a 1-week period, 3-week period, etc.) can be analyzed for all skaters and goalies stored in the database. The Rhino Hockey database includes historical stats from the 2002-03, 2003-04, and 2005-06 seasons for over 1000 NHL players (forwards, defensemen, goalies, and enforcers). Over 30 statistical categories are available to be shown on stat reports. Plus, poolies can create their own custom fantasy points formula based on their league's scoring rules, which enables them to view pool points scored by each NHL player on their stat reports.

In addition to analyzing NHL player stats, Rhino Hockey lets poolies track as many different fantasy leagues and fantasy teams as they want. Each league can be setup to use the particular scoring system and roster composition rules that apply to it. This is perfect for poolies who play in multiple fantasy leagues. Each week of the season you simply record roster moves, and then let Rhino Hockey do the hard work of calculating the weekly and year-to-date fantasy team stats and fantasy points. You can even keep track of fantasy player salaries and contracts, and print out team rosters and your league's free agent pool.

The software even has a built-in player dollar values calculator which is a perfect way for poolies who play in salary-cap style leagues to evaluate the worth of players both before the draft and during the regular season. Rhino Hockey works in tandem with a powerful, relational database. That means users have the ability to perform custom queries and filter statistical data in a wide variety of ways. This analytical power is what truly makes Rhino Hockey a terrific tool for poolies who want to know which players to draft, who they should trade for, and which players to pickup or dump during the regular season.

Rhino Hockey works on desktop or laptop PC's running the Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/XP operating system. A free copy of our Rhino Viewer software is bundled with every copy of Rhino Hockey. This enables users to view, manipulate, and easily share full-color PSR reports that are generated by the Rhino Hockey program.

Current Availability Status:

In the Fall of 2006, we made a business decision to delay the release of Rhino Hockey 1.0 indefinitely. 

This was a very difficult decision, and we're sorry to disappoint those of you who were looking forward to the release of the hockey software for the 2007-2008 NHL season. Other in-company software development projects have been given priority over Rhino Hockey, which is the primary reason why it hasn't been released yet.
