Draft Prep Features
The following is a description of the core draft preparation features
found in Rhino Baseball
Draft Magic. All of these features are also part of the
Deluxe version of the program.
Player Stats & Depth Charts | Projections
| Player Values & Cheatsheets | Draft
Planning

 | Historical Player Stats
-- Analyze batting, pitching, and games-by-position stats for over 1500 major league
players (including a selection of 125 top prospects). View the final AL/NL combined
stats for any year from 1994 thru last season. Rhino Baseball goes beyond the standard
8-12 fantasy stat categories and shows you numerous sabermetric stats (such
as OPS, Isolated Power, Secondary Average, Runs Created, Quality Starts, Strikeout/Walk Ratio, Win Potential, and many more) as well as results for your own special user-defined stat
formulas. |
 | 3-Year Averages -- Compare
final AL/NL stats over the past 3 seasons for hitters & pitchers, and
view either straight or weighted 3-year stat
averages. |
 | Depth Charts -- View
position-based depth charts for every major league team.
Players are sorted by Expected Playing Time within each
position. |

 | Forecast
Stats -- Calculate full-season player
projections using our
innovative stats forecasting engine. The Rhino Baseball forecasting
engine analyzes a player's statistical trends, injury history, age, breakout
potential, home ballpark factors, and more to generate intelligent
projections that you can rely on. You can even adjust the Expected Playing
Time and batting/pitching Role settings for major league players, account for recent injuries by updating a player's
Weeks
Injured setting, and change a player's major league team should he get
traded to another club. You can also change each player's Forecast Method (Aggressive,
Conservative, or Normal), adjust the 3-year
stats weighting factors, and turn on/off various factors that the
forecast engine takes into account when generating stat projections. This
gives you a tremendous degree of control over the stats forecasting process. Why buy
somebody else's projections when you can create your own set of customized
projections any time you want using Rhino Baseball? |
 | Projected
Stat Leaders -- View the top-30 projected stat leaders in over 100 built-in stat
categories, including any user-defined stat categories that you
have created. You can also generate a composite report that shows
the top-20 projected leaders for only those stat categories that your
fantasy league uses for scoring purposes. |

 | Dollar Values -- Compute player dollar
values based on your fantasy league's roster rules, stat categories, freeze lists,
draft-day salary cap, and your most recent set of stat projections. In
addition to Raw dollar values, Rhino Baseball
also
calculates Draft Day prices adjusted for inflation, Optimal Bid prices, and
Net
Profit (draft day price minus salary). There's also a player filtering feature which
lets you view only those players who meet certain price criteria (example:
outfielders with draft values in the $5 to $15 range). |
 | Fantasy
Point Ratings -- View projected fantasy point ratings for the
players in your fantasy league based on
your own custom-built rating formulas. Rhino Baseball also comes preloaded with point
formulas for several popular rating systems (including our popular
Roto Batter Rating and Roto Pitcher Rating formulas). |
 | Draft Day
Cheatsheet -- Generate and print a draft cheatsheet, showing
players grouped by their respective positions, to take along to your annual auction/draft. Players
shown on the cheatsheet can
be sorted within each position by their dollar value or fantasy point rating. |

 | Freeze Lists -- Use your league's year-end rosters to create fantasy team freeze lists. See
how much money each team has left to spend, the number of
players they need to draft, and which players are protected under Topper
Rights. |
 | Freeze List Analyzer -- Run the Freeze
List Analyzer to evaluate your league's players by their Profit/Loss, VALS (Value Above
Last Starter), and Keeper Risk Level. This is a fantastic tool for keeper-league
GM's who want to know which players they should freeze, and enables team
owners to try out
several variations of their freeze list before settling on a final set of
keepers. |
 | Draft
Assistant -- Create draft plans
using the highly addictive Draft Assistant tool. A draft plan is a
roster of players that you hope to draft, and whose combined projected
dollar values don't exceed your fantasy team's Draft Day salary cap. If
you're in a keeper league, your draft plan also includes the players on
your freeze list. For each draft plan that you create, Rhino Baseball shows
you the projected stat totals for that given team. This is a truly wonderful
tool for rotisserie league GM's whose primary goal is to draft a winning
team while staying within the constraints of their team's spending budget. |
 | Draft Plan Analyzer -- Select a set of draft
plans to analyze, enter your team's desired statistical goals, and
then let Rhino Baseball evaluate those draft plans to determine which one gives you the
best chance to meet your stat goals and win your fantasy league. The
program also
generates a handy cheatsheet that shows a side-by-side comparison of your two
best draft plans (the 2 plans that best meet your stat goals). |
