| Rhino Baseball Deluxe 6.65The Different Versions | Full List of Features | Pricing & Ordering
You're probably wondering what Rhino Baseball Deluxe is and what it can do for you. Before you read about all the cool things that this software can do and how it can help you enjoy running and playing in your fantasy baseball league more than ever before, let me take a moment to explain why I created Rhino Baseball in the first place. I've been playing rotisserie baseball since 1987, probably before some of you were old enough to start shaving! If you count simulation games such as Strat-O-Matic and Statis Pro Baseball, I've been involved in some type of fantasy baseball league since the early 1970's. When I first started running my own rotisserie baseball league back in '87, I kept track of everything by hand (stats, transactions, rosters). Two years later I started using spreadsheets to track the moves & stats, and then eventually I progressed to the PC and web-based software to run my various fantasy leagues (baseball, football, hockey). I've tried out quite a few fantasy programs over the years, both desktop PC and web-based varieties, and while many of them were solid pieces of software, they ultimately lacked many of the features that I really wanted. Specifically, none of those software packages (and this still holds true today), addressed the "big picture" of fantasy sports. Some of them helped you crunch stats and manage your league. Others were aimed at helping you with player projections, dollar values, and draft prep. But there wasn't any single software product that pulled together every aspect of fantasy baseball into one single, nicely integrated package. That's why I decided to create my own fantasy baseball software. I not only wanted features to help me manage my leagues and crunch my stats as quickly and easily as possible, but I wanted something that would help me figure out who to freeze, who to draft, how much they were worth, and if I could fit them into my draft budget. And since we all know that the fantasy baseball season doesn't end after Draft Day, I wanted something that I could use all season long. I thought, wouldn't it be cool to have software that could help me decide who I should bench, who I should trade, what free agents to acquire, and who was likely to fade or rebound as the season progressed? In short, I wanted one program that could help me in every facet of fantasy baseball, from league management to draft prep to in-season player analysis. Not only would it ideally cut down on the time-consuming drudge work of being the commish, but it would ultimately help me win my leagues. My dream of powerful, all-in-one fantasy baseball software became a reality in 1997 with the completion of Rhino Scout 1.0. Since that very first version was released, a truckload of new features have been added to the program and the name has since been changed to Rhino Baseball Deluxe. The current version of the software has expanded way beyond my original vision of the software when I started this project back in the mid-1990's. And I've been extremely fortunate to share this great product with many happy customers, who frequently call or email me saying how much they love Rhino Baseball, and that they haven't found any other fantasy baseball software or online service that comes anywhere close to matching it. I've used it to run my HARL rotisserie league since 1997, and it has not only saved me huge amounts of time as a commissioner and given me and my league mates access to dozens of stat reports that we can really sink our teeth into, but it's given me analytical tools that have helped me become a 6-time league champion as well.
Rhino Baseball Deluxe is loaded with features, and while this depth & power is greatly desired by experienced fantasy players, it may be a little too advanced for fantasy baseball "newbies". It's also not recommended to those people whose basic computer skills are weak, or to people who are highly impatient and simply refuse to spend any time reading instructions or learning how to squeeze the most out of the software. But if you're really into fantasy baseball and are comfortable around computers, then I guarantee you'll enjoy using Rhino Baseball. It's also important to understand that Rhino Baseball works with weekly player stats updates, such as those provided by our Rhino Stats Service. There are some people who just can't live without daily stats and standings updates over the web. If you're one of those people, then Rhino Baseball may not satisfy you. Personally, I've played in daily stats leagues and have to say that I find them much less interesting than weekly leagues. The publication of the stats becomes routine and mundane; there's no real excitement when the updated standings are posted. Daily leagues also tend to suffer from micro-management. These leagues feel too much like work rather than fun. Everyone has different tastes. But take it from a true fantasy sports fanatic who has been playing this game for a very long time; there isn't another software product out there (desktop or web-based) that saves me more time as a commish, produces more informative reports, or gives me better information to evaluate fantasy stats, players, and trades than Rhino Baseball Deluxe does. Not only does it make the game a heck of a lot more fun, but it gives me everything I need to win my league. And after winning 6 championships, including 3 consecutive fantasy league titles from 2001-2003 in a highly competitive ultra-style baseball league, I certainly know a thing a two or about winning! If you love fantasy or rotisserie baseball, you owe it to yourself to give Rhino Baseball Deluxe a closer look.
